BeukenkampBoudewyn “Dutch” Beukenkamp passed away suddenly on Thursday, Oct. 8, 2026, after an unexpected illness, he was 77.

Dutch was a cherished husband, father, brother and friend to many whose life was a testament to love, music and adventure.

Born in the Netherlands on May 25, 1949, he was the beloved son of the late Lourens and Margaret Beukenkamp. He is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Susan; his loving daughter Nicole; his brother Roderik; sister-in law, Linda; and many other dear family members.

Together with Susan, Dutch created a home filled with warmth and laughter, nurturing not only his daughter but also fostering meaningful connections with several foreign exchange students. A graduate of Boston Conservatory of Music, he carried a passion for music throughout his life. Whether classical or rock, he loved it all. Dutch could play any instrument with ease.

His career was as diverse as it was fulfilling starting as a middle school music teacher. He later shared ownership in both a marina and auto business and finally settled as a field service tech for Van Dyk Recycling Solutions.

Throughout his career, he exemplified the spirit of “Jack of All Trades” tackling every challenge with creativity and dedication. His mechanical prowess made him the go to problem solver for friends and family.

Dutch was an integral part of his community, actively participating in Lower United Methodist Church in Hartfield. His voice graced the church choir, and his skilled hands played the handbells, bringing joy to all that heard him.

He was also a proud member of Stingray Harbor Yacht Club and Deltaville Maritime Museum. His life was also enriched by his love for cars and NASCAR. He was an avid sailor where he and Susan shared countless adventures through their 48 years with many, many friends. His love for Deltaville was boundless, and he relished every moment living on the water.

Above all, his family was his greatest treasure, and he will be so missed. Known for his quick wit, warm smile, endless jokes and a gift for making everyone feel welcomed and valued. Dutch’s kindness and generosity left an indelible mark on the lives he touched. May he rest in peace, forever remembered and cherished by those who knew and loved him.

A service to celebrate his remarkable life is planned for 11 a.m. Nov. 13 at Lower United Methodist Church, 120 Church Road, Hartfield.

In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests donations be made to the church, Middlesex Pet Friends for Life or charity of your choice.
