The month of May has brought showers and lovely weather. Most of the seedlings have been put out and flower beds are ready to do their summer blooming. Walking around the garden is a trip down memory lane. The blood red peonies that Edith Seigel shared before she moved have come into their maturity. There is a single and a double both with lots of buds to be enjoyed for weeks to come. Both take one’s breath away.
There is also a red flower that Carter Dean shared several years ago. It didn’t do much for a couple of years but this year is blooming and filling in the border. Have no idea of the name.
Of course, the iris are blooming all around Deltaville. Every now and then there is one in someone’s garden that I think about asking them to share. Then I drive on by and forget…
