She was born in Urbanna and lived most of her adult life in Syringa. She graduated from Middlesex High School in 1950 with friends Frances Johnston and Charles Bristow and spent fun times at the Urbanna theater and skating rink down on the harbor.

Ann was born on Nov. 8, 1931 to parents Robert (Bob) and Gladys Green, who lived over their country store in downtown Pinetree. It was a busy place with four siblings and she often escaped to find quiet time at Lansdowne in Urbanna with a school teacher friend of her mother’s (Auntie Bessie Mae Brown).

She is preceded in death by her husband, Temple A. Davis; siblings, Robert, Carolyn Grinels, John, and Jesse Green; and one grandchild, Jaren Davis.

Ann is survived by her three children, Terry Ann Rogers (Greg), Wallace Temple Davis (Terri) and Marshall Jerome Davis (Vicki); grandchildren, Marsha Jedlinki (John), Jennifer Davis, Megan Smith (Jamison), and Courtney Rogers; and step-grandchildren, Kelly Best (Stephen), and Abigail Purcell. The great-grandchildren are Addison and Gavin Smith; and the step-great-grandchild is Macon Best. She is also survived by special cousins, Cynthia Lewis, Johnny Fleet (Cookie), Jolyn Hock, E.G. Fleet (Bea), George Rockwell and Gary Adams; and numerous other cousins, nieces and nephews.

A visitation at 10 a.m. and memorial service at 11 a.m. will be conducted at Lower United Methodist Church in Hartfield on Tuesday, June 8. A reception will be conducted immediately following at the LUMC fellowship hall.

The family thanks the members of the staff of Saluda Riverside Convalescent Center for the many hours of care they provided to her in recent years. They truly do God’s work right here on earth.

Memorial donations may be made to the Lower UMC Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 212, Dutton, VA 23050 or the Middlesex Rescue Squad.
