The American Kennel Club (AKC) announced recently that Nancy Fisk, delegate for the Hockamock Kennel Club, has been awarded the AKC Community Achievement Award. The AKC Community Achievement award recognizes outstanding community leadership by individuals and clubs.
Nancy Fisk, a Laneview resident, is an active, long-time dog enthusiast and club member, advocating for responsible dog ownership and responsible dog owners. She lived in Massachusetts for many years, where she was a member of Hockamock Kennel Club and president of the Massachusetts Federation of Dog Clubs, where she testified on many important legislative issues.
As a breeder, she developed the Akiko line of Akitas, which are recognized for their excellent temperaments, health and longevity, and have been recognized with multiple best in show and best in specialty show wins. Akitas are named after Akita Prefecture, a region and city in Japan.
