Wake photographer Michael Kunzinger presented a reception on Tuesday, Aug. 12, for his show, “The Element of Water,” which is currently on exhibit at the Deltaville library.

Kunzinger has walked the cobblestone riverbanks of Galway, Ireland, to Deltaville’s Broad and Jackson creeks from dawn to dusk to catch the colorful zigs and zags of Mother Nature’s movement on the water.
“I use the available light and water to capture the image that is there and images that we do not always pay attention to,” said Kunzinger at the exhibit at the library on Tuesday. His work explores many different water patterns. “I look for images in reflections of the water’s surface,” he said. “Although the resulting photos resemble modern abstract art, they are entirely real, created without oils or digital retouching.”
The photos on display at the library were taken in Galway, Ireland, Virginia Beach, Fishing Bay Harbor, and Locklies, Jackson and Broad creeks.
“The Element of Water” will remain on display at the Deltaville library until the end of August. The library is a branch site of the Middlesex County Public Library (MCPL) system, which also has a branch in Urbanna.
