The Deltaville Maritime Museum and Holly Point Nature Park invites the community to a full day of festivities on Saturday, Aug. 23, with the return of the beloved Holly Point Market in the morning and Groovin’ in the Park concert that evening.
At Holly Point Market, 9 a.m.-1 p.m., visitors can enjoy a vibrant open-air market featuring a wide variety of local vendors, live music, and a classic car show. Admission to the Maritime Museum is free during market hours, offering guests a chance to explore Deltaville’s rich nautical history.
Families will find plenty to enjoy, including free Discovery Cruises aboard the Jennie May with Captain Pete Cardozo, model trains run by Tome and Mary Armentrout, and children’s activities led by volunteer Karen Minter. A bar will be available during the market.
At Groovin’ in the Park, 5:30-7:30 p.m., the fun continues into the evening with Groovin’, presented at the waterfront stage. This month’s featured band is Stuck On A Name, bringing their signature reggae sound to the riverfront.
Tickets are $15 and available at the gate. Guests are welcome to bring their own coolers and chairs, and alcohol is permitted. A bar will also be open during the concert.
