The Middlesex County Board of Supervisors (MCBS) is the only governing body out of nine not to approve a letter to Virginia Department of Conservation Resources (DCR) requesting an eligibility criteria study of the lower Rappahannock River for Virginia Scenic Rivers status.
According to DCR officials, the Virginia Scenic Rivers Program’s intent is to identify, designate and help possess outstanding scenic, recreational, historical and natural characteristics of statewide significance for future generations.
