The Urbanna Town Council will meet in person on the second floor of the town hall today, Thursday, July 8, at 6:30 p.m.
This will not be a Zoom meeting. Details for broadcasting council meetings via Zoom and YouTube are still being worked out.
Council is required to meet in person now that COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted. Council voted to continue remote access to its meetings as a convenience to citizens.
On the agenda for July 8 is a public hearing on a proposed 40 cent tax per pack of cigarettes.
Council may vote to join the Chesapeake Bay Region Cigarette Tax Board, an entity of several jurisdictions on the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula, including Middlesex County, that have joined together to administer the tax.
Council will discuss in closed session proposals for trash collection.
The various committees will give reports.
A public comment session will be conducted.
