Kiwanians select Katie Brooke as Middlesex Teenager of the Year

Each year, the Kiwanis Club of Middlesex sponsors a Teenager of the Year contest for Middlesex teens. Applicants are judged on their academic, extracurricular and community achievements. This year’s Middlesex Teenager of the Year is Katherine “Katie” Brooke.

Katie is completing her senior year at Middlesex High School. She has been on the honor roll since seventh grade; has contributed 210 hours of community service while in high school and has attended Chesapeake Bay Governor’s School since 10th grade, where she has been selected for the Governor’s School Director’s List Honor Roll each semester of her attendance. For her Governor’s School senior research project, Katie chose to study the effects of water quality on oyster growth at various sites on the Rappahannock River…
