Support for Cooks Corner Christian Skaters skateboard park

The Middlesex Christian Skaters skateboard park at Cooks Corner came much closer to a reality last week thanks to the generosity of the Middlesex Rotary and Kiwanis clubs. Club reps (left) presented checks to support the construction of the park. Check presentation ceremony participants include, from left, Triangle Skateboard Alliance Treasurer Patti McGrath, Middlesex Rotary Club rep Stan Coloff, Christian Skaters Skate Club rep and pastor of Pure Life Church, the Rev. Aaron Wells, Skateboard Club President Vincent Wells and Middlesex Kiwanis Club President Nancy Fisk.

According to Rev. Wells, construction will begin soon with a target date for opening in June.

Vincent Wells (right) anticipates soon being able to skate with friends on the new skateboard park, which is going in, on and around an old basketball court adjacent to the Middlesex Pet Friends for Life Dog Park, formerly part of the old Rappahannock Elementary School campus. (Contributed photos)
