Superintendent: Health and safety are schools’ priority

Middlesex County school superintendent Dr. Tracy Seitz explained in a Jan. 22 letter to parents the Middlesex County School Board’s (MCSB) decision Friday to move forward not to comply with Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s order that gives parents the right to decide whether or not their children must mask in school.

“As you may know, Gov. Glenn Youngkin recently issued an executive order that repealed Virginia’s mask mandate for all public school divisions,” she wrote. The order went into effect Monday, Jan. 24.
