Sharon Ramona Harris of Suffolk died Saturday, Aug. 27, 2022 at Sentara Virginia Beach Hospital after a long illness.
She was born on Tuesday, May 26, 1959 to the late David Harris Sr. and Annabel Marcella B. Harris of Middlesex County. Sharon received her education in the Middlesex school system until her family moved to Plainfield, N.J., where she was a nursing assistant.
Sharon returned to Rocky, N.C., and Virginia eight years ago to be near family. Last year, Sharon became sick.
She leaves to mourn her fond memories a son, Milton Darnell Lee Harris; granddaughter, Tajanique; two great-granddaughters, Samiya and Sariya; two sisters, Joan A. Opie of Topping, Darlene M. Roye; two brothers, Stephen and David Harris Jr.; a brother-in-law, Holland L. Roye, all of Baltimore, Md.; and a special niece, Dana Marie; cousins, Zoeann, Barbara, Louise, Goldie, and Booktee Harris, Robert; Leanna Burrell, a dear friend of Sharon and the family; Mr. Eric, love of her heart; and a host of nieces, great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews, cousins and friends, all of whom made her life a blessing.
Due to COVID-19 and monkeypox, everyone must practice social distancing, and wear masks and gloves.
The family thanks you in advance during their hour of bereavement.
The memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at the Deltaville Community Center, 17147 General Puller Highway, Deltaville. The burial will be at 15924 Marcella B Lane.
