The Seahorses defeated Mercersburg Academy (Mercersburg, Pa.) 4-1 to win the annual Jason Soucek Memorial Soccer Tournament. In the first round of the tournament, the Seahorses also defeated The Steward School 7-1 to advance to the finals on Saturday. St. Stephen’s and St. Agnes School also competed in the tournament.
Middlesex County resident Jason “Juice” Soucek, CCS Class of 1992, was the son of Archie (’61) and Claudia Soucek of Saluda. Jason Soucek died in 1996 while a student at Roanoke College. The annual tournament honors his memory.
