The Lancaster Players, a White Stone-based theater company, recently announced its upcoming production of “Public Speaking 101,” a sharp-witted contemporary comedy by Mark St. Germain.  Directed by Linda Stough, the play calls for a cast of two women and three men.

Rehearsals begin Monday, Sept. 15, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and continue on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays until later in October when additional rehearsals will be scheduled.

The Lancaster Players Playhouse is at 361 Chesapeake Drive in White Stone. Performance dates are Nov. 7-9, 14-16 and 21-23.

Set in a community college classroom, the story follows four unconventional students — a police officer, a funeral home makeup artist, a minister, and a rocket scientist — each with a desperate fear of public speaking. Their instructor is a spirited community theatre actress with no teaching experience and a flair for the dramatic. The result is a hilarious and heartfelt journey of courage, challenges and connection.

For information, call The Playhouse, 804-435-3776, and leave a message.
