Permillia Ann Hurd, 85, of Hampton, died peacefully at home on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2025.
Born on Oct. 28, 1939, she was a lifelong Peninsula resident.
She was a 1958 graduate of Hampton High School; retired from the City of Hampton Police Department as a dispatcher; and was a longtime member of Fox Hill Road Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by her parents, Morris Henry Smith Sr. and Nettie Kemp Smith; she leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband of 67 years, Leon Hurd; her son, Lee Hurd (Jo) of Gloucester; and daughter, Marie Williams (Joe) of Middlesex County; her grandchildren, Chris Hurd (Heather) and Stephanie Conley (Sophie); great-grandchildren, Shelby, Daniel, Hailey, Michael, and Alex; as well as special people in her life, Brenda Small, Victoria and Sammy Larned.
A heartfelt thank you to all of her caregivers.
At her request, there will be no service. In Permillia’s memory, please celebrate her life as she lived it with faith, family and hope.
