Members of the Middlesex Chapter of the NAACP participate in a rally at the 1910 Daughters of Confederacy monument at the Middlesex County Historic Courthouse Tuesday evening, repeating, “Take it down.” In the background the members talk strategy to get voters to participate. About 16 people attended the rally.

Removing the monument will be a “non-binding” referendum question on the Nov. 2 ballot. Votes will be advisory only and the Middlesex Board of Supervisors can vote as it wishes.
