Middlesex YMCA Golf Classic boosts community programs

The Middlesex Family YMCA presented its 19th annual Golf Classic on Friday, July 11, at Hartfield’s Piankatank River Golf Club. The annual tournament serves as a key fundraiser for the YMCA’s annual Impact Fund, which provides financial assistance for community members to access vital YMCA programs.

A total of 22 teams took to the course in support of the cause, enjoying a day filled with competition, camaraderie and community impact. Overall champions with an impressive score of 54 were Kai Evans, Peyton Lambert, Steve Dunkel, and Drew Layne. Second flight champions with a score of 60 were Jamie Cornette, Danny Montgomery, Wade Hosmer and Darren Norwood. Third flight champions with a score of 66 were Darren Lindsay, Troy Davis, David Moore and Paul Seitz. The ladies division champions with a score of 66 were Ellen McGowan, Colleen Robertson, Kay Stout and Janice Phillips.
