Middlesex volleyball squad falls in state quarterfinal vs. Altavista

The Middlesex High School (MHS) Lady Chargers volleyball team (21-4, 11-0) traveled three and a half hours to Campbell County in Southside Virginia to take on the Region 1B champs Altavista Combined School on Saturday for the opening round of the state tournament. It was the fifth trip to states in seven seasons for the Lady Chargers and MHS Coach Brian Walton.

Altavista’s Lady Colonels won the quarterfinal match 3-1, ending the Lady Chargers’ season.

The Lady Chargers were undefeated in the Tidewater District and finished in first place; and were runners up in the Region 1A tournament to champions Rappahannock…
