A generational Middlesex County Board of Supervisors issue came to light again at the board’s January meeting as two supervisors encouraged the board to hire a local contractor whose bid was more costly than an out-of-county contractor’s bid.

Over the years, different boards of supervisors have debated whether or not close low bids should go to the local contractor or to contractors from out of the region. Sometimes boards have gone with the local contractor.
