The Middlesex Makos swim team is now in its second season practicing and competing at the Marshall Community Pool in Urbanna.
Last year, the team finished second during the regular season and second at the championship swim meet.
The Makos practice from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, with different age groups practicing at different times.
Upcoming Makos swim meets:
- Today, Thursday, June 26 — Versus Rappahannock Recreation Association at home.
- Tuesday, July 1 — Versus West Point at home.
- Tuesday, July 8 — Versus Deltaville at home.
- Saturday, July 19 — Championships at home.
The team accepts ages 4-18 individuals from Middlesex County, as well as from counties that do not have a summer swim team, such as King & Queen, Gloucester and Mathews.
