Things look bright for this year’s Middlesex High School (MHS) girls cross country team, which finished strong last year. “It was a fantastic season for us,” reflected MHS Head Girls Cross Country Coach Jennifer Harrow. “We took first in the district, second in the region and placed fifth in the state.”
Looking ahead, Coach Harrow added, “We have an exciting lineup this year with strong potential to build on that success. We return our top three runners from last season, Keichan Layne, Miko Layne and Aleena Reza, alongside returning seniors Olivia Hoffield and Sarah Laster.
“In addition, we’ve added a talented group of newcomers, including junior Sophia Sandlin; sophomores Aubrey Adams, Claire Dise, and Elliot Lease; freshmen Nadya Crader and Piper Ward; and eighth-grader Sophia Watson. With these promising additions joining a solid core, this team has the potential to be even stronger than last year. I am truly excited to see how this season progresses.”
