The Middlesex High School varsity volleyball team defeated visiting Colonial Beach in three sets on Monday in the opening round of the Region 1A Tournament.
With the win the Lady Chargers advanced and will host Chincoteague on Nov. 2. The winner will play for the championship 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 6 at the higher seed.
The Lady Chargers (11-0, 19-2) were undefeated in Tidewater District play and are regular season district champions. The Lady Chargers’ only two losses came at the hands of Rappahannock. The Raiders will likely be in the regional tournament final.
