Middlesex High School’s (MHS) volleyball team opened its season on Aug. 26 by defeating visiting Lancaster in four sets. The Lady Chargers won the first two sets 25-22, 25-14. Lancaster took the third set 21-25. Middlesex came back to win set four 25-22 and claim the match win.
“I thought we played very well and my young girls stepped up in a big way,” said Lady Charger Coach Brian Walton.
The Middlesex junior varsity volleyball team won in two sets.
Thursday, Sept. 4, Middlesex hosts rival Rappahannock of Warsaw in the John S. Clements Memorial Gymnasium in Saluda. The JV plays at 5:30 p.m. and the varsity follows at 7 p.m.
