The combined Middlesex High School (MHS) and Lancaster High School (LHS) swim teams swam against Christchurch School on Jan. 27 at the Northern Neck Family YMCA in Kilmarnock.

“We didn’t keep score, but all of the swimmers did a fantastic job,” said MHS-LHS Coach Jenny Morotini. “When we swim with Christchurch School it’s such a fun meet, because all of the swimmers support each other, help each other, and cheer for each other. As a coach, that’s as great to see as a good swim.”

Some standout swimmers included MHS’s Ashtyn Franklin and LHS’s Morgan VerMeer.

Both of them recorded their personal bests. The MHS-LHS boys 200 freestyle relay also dropped time, getting closer to their state time, noted Morotini.
