The Middlesex High School girls basketball team traveled to King and Queen Central on Jan. 25 to face the Lady Tigers, who played a tough, aggressive game and came away with a 51-23 victory. The game was tied at the end of the first period but the Lady Tigers pulled away in the second quarter and led by 16 points at the half. The Lady Tigers continued to execute in the second half and the game was never in doubt.
“We just continue to make the same mistakes over and over,” said Lady Charger Head Coach Neil Wake. “We have yet to put a full game together.”
Chelsey Holmes again led the Lady Charger scoring with 12 points. Also for Middlesex, Kaylynn Darnell scored 5 points and 2 point scorers included Javonya Chandler, Skylar Darnell and Geriyah Cooke.
The Lady Chargers host West Point today, Thursday, Feb. 3, at 7 p.m. and travel to Essex on Friday, Jan. 4, for a 6 p.m. game.
