MCSO: Man solicited sex from youth

Thanks to citizens’ tips and a quick thinking youth, the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) has arrested and charged an Urbanna area man with taking indecent liberties with a child, reported Major M.E. Sampson of the MCSO.

According to Maj. Sampson, on Tuesday, July 20, an individual in a white van approached a 12-year-old Urbanna youth at Taber Park in the Town of Urbanna and attempted to solicit sexual favors. The youth had ridden a bicycle to Taber Park and was swinging on the swing set when a white van occupied by a man pulled up and parked. He exited the vehicle and opened the back hatch.
