Mary Luise Sexton, 63, died on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2025, in Virginia Beach.
Mary was born on Sept. 17, 1962, in Richmond. She spent more than 20 years working in customer service and management, where she was known for her dedication, reliability, and ability to connect with people from all walks of life.
Mary had a quick wit and a great sense of humor that brought light into everyday moments. She cared deeply for others and lived her values through action — helping those experiencing homelessness, watching out for neighborhood children, and showing special compassion for animals. Her presence made her community feel safer, kinder, and more connected.
Mary will be remembered for her warmth, her humor, and her generous heart. She leaves behind many who were touched by her kindness and will carry her memory forward.
Mary is survived by her mother, Luise; partner, Dan; daughter, Melissa (Henry); twin granddaughters, Brooklynn and Amaya; son, Lucas; and her brothers, Michael and Stephen.
She was preceded in death by her father, William (Bill), whom she loved dearly. Her life was one of quiet service, care for others, and she will be deeply missed.
A memorial service is planned for March 14 at Remlik Wesleyan Church. A brief fellowship event will begin at 1 p.m. with the service starting at 1:30 p.m., followed by a light reception in the church fellowship hall.
