Mary Jane Vonderlehr Paul, 94, of Hartfield, died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2022.
She was born in Richmond on Feb. 24, 1927.
She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Kendall W. Paul; her son, Bradford Turner Paul; and parents, Virginia and John H. Vonderlehr. She is survived by her daughter, Janice Paul Moody; a brother, John “Jack” Vonderlehr Jr.; niece, Cydney V. Gara (Lewis); nephews, Paul Brian Vonderlehr and Michael Grady Paul; daughter-in-law, Diane Paul; granddaughters, Stephanie Stokes and Shannon Jordan (Austin); two great grandchildren, Xander and Zoey and loyal; and dearly loved friend, Jimmy Blake.
Mary Jane attended Longwood College. She enjoyed volunteer work helping children and was an artist in pastels and oil paintings of landscapes, water scenes and portraits. Mary Jane also loved water sports, fishing, swimming and boating.
Friends and family will gather for a graveside service at Catholic Church of the Visitation Cemetery, 8462 General Puller Highway, Topping, on Saturday, Jan. 29 at 11 a.m. A reception will be conducted at the Pilot House Restaurant, 2737 Grey’s Point Road, Topping. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to the Humane Society of the U.S.A. or the Hartfield Volunteer Fire Department, Hartfield.
