It’s never too early to celebrate Christmas, and so this summer the Deltaville Community Association (DCA) is announcing that the 18th century sloop Luna will be featured on the 2024 DCA Christmas tree ornament.
Sloops were the 18-wheelers of Colonial America and anyone living on the coastal would have readily recognized Luna as a coastal workhorse.
Luna is owned and operated by The Colonial Seaport Foundation in Deltaville. It was built in and is docked in Deltaville.
“Not only is she a beautiful sloop, she is used for a floating classroom,” said a DCA spokesman. “We thank John Collamore for working with us to make this ornament great.”
You can purchase an ornament for $20 at Hurd’s True Value Hardware Store or Nauti Nell’s gift shop, both in Deltaville.
