James Edward “Coosie-Pop” Johnson’s journey through life began on July 24, 1927 in Middlesex County and ended on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2022 in Sentara Hospital, Williamsburg, Virginia, at the age of 95.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife of 75 years, Emma Jane Key Johnson; seven children, Frauline (George) Robinson of Topping, James (Patricia) Johnson of Richmond, Shirley LaVallais of Highland Springs, Emory (Diane) Johnson of Saluda, Marcellus Johnson, Nancy Cannon, Terry (Pamela) Johnson of Richmond; one godson, James Curtis of Saluda; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives, and friends.
The funeral service was Saturday, Oct. 8, at Calvary Baptist Church.
