Christchurch School faculty and their families have strung prayer flags over the school’s white fence along General Puller Highway in Middlesex County. The flags are meant to serve as a colorful expression of love and concern for all affected by the coronavirus and to show gratitude and support for first responders, doctors, nurses and all medical personnel.
The idea was conceived by Foreign Language Department Chairman Chris Little.
“I’ve always loved the idea of prayer flags waving in the wind, sending out good vibrations to the four corners of the world,” said Little.
Members of the community are invited to hang flags of their own — the flags are pieces of fabric roughly nine- by 15-inches with prayers written on them. Clothespins are available on the line.
A school spokesman reminds everyone to remember to take precautions against COVID-19, including maintaining social distancing and using other protective measures — for example, wearing gloves and masks.
