Former Middlesex County Sheriff David Bushey is charged with misdemeanor assault and battery in Essex County, indicate Essex County General District Court records.
Bushey resigned after 14 years as sheriff in March, citing “health reasons.”
According to court records, the alleged incident occurred on Nov. 13, 2025 while Bushey was still sheriff.
