Family is moved by girl’s drawing

Anniston Habib, 10, created this Art class project drawing in honor of her late great-grandfather.

Christmas time is hard for those who have lost loved ones. This picture and writing was done by Anniston Habib for her late great-grandfather, whom she never knew. She attends St. Mary’s Catholic School in Richmond and in Art class the students were asked to create an art piece for a project and give a description of their artwork.

Anniston has heard so much about her PopPop (Carl Prince of Deltaville) that she wanted to do this project. When she took it home to show her family, Deborah Prince Gibrall, her grandmother, was overwhelmed and shared it with all of the family. Gladys Prince, Anniston’s great-grandmother, was equally as impressed that she had these feelings for someone she never met but the entire family knows what she wrote was the truth about PopPop, he loved his grandchildren and would have equally loved his great-grandchildren.

Christmas is a time to spread joy and love and Anniston has certainly done that with her artwork.
