All are welcome to join a candlelight Christmas Eve service set for 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 24, at Urbanna United Methodist Church. Participants will light the church’s front lawn Christ Candle at the center of the Advent Wreath. It is a meaningful way to symbolize the light of Christ coming into the darkness in the world. Christ connects all the Advent candles. Through Him, everyone can have hope, peace, joy and love. Because of Him, everyone can be a light unto others, showing them the true meaning of Christmas.
Participants will gather around the big Advent Wreath at the corner of Cross Street and Marston Avenue in Urbanna.
Masks and social distancing are required. In the event of inclement weather conditions, the service will be conducted inside the church building.
For information, call the church office at 804-758-5308 or email urbannaumc@va.metrocast.net.
