Enhancements eyed for Urbanna park

A preliminary study on the feasibility of a major makeover of Urbanna’s Taber Park is on hold. Land Planning and Design Associates (LPDA) of Charlottesville previously worked with the town to develop a conceptual plan for the 2.5-acre park that was approved by the previous town council in 2019. 

Foremost in the tentative plan is a new pool.

Meanwhile, council is considering opening the town pool for this season, which would begin around Memorial Day in May. The pool was closed last season due to COVID-19 concerns.

Councilor Bill Goldsmith told council at the March 11 meeting the town needs to check with its insurance company to see if there are things to be corrected…
