It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our dear mother, Ellen Beverley Johnson.
Ellen was born in Locust Hill on Feb. 27, 1942, the beloved daughter of the late James Howard and Clarice Belle Beverley.
She entered eternal rest on Wednesday, July 23, 2025.
Ellen is survived by her children, Cynthia C. Waters, and Michael A. Johnson Sr. (Ellen); grandchildren, Deon Thompson, Juanita Johnson, James A. Johnson Jr. (Serena), and Michael A. Johnson Jr.; great-grandchildren, Aniyah, Kamilah, Jayceon, Aubree, Ameah, Ellie, and Phoenix.
Her surviving siblings include Mary Whiting, Brenda Lomax (Stanley), Bernard (Nancy), Charles, Calvin (Cynthia), Jeannette Borum (Tim), Bruce (Evelyn), Tonya, Diane, and Toney (Faye). She is also remembered lovingly by sisters-in-law Roberta, Alveda, and Valerie, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
The funeral service was Tuesday, July 29 at 11 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 3971 General Puller Highway, Saluda. Viewing was 10 to 11 a.m. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Professional services were entrusted to Forrest Brothers Funeral, Hudgins.
