Cross St. is history marker #2 of 14 in Urbanna’s Museum in the Streets walking/driving tour. The video aspect of the tour is currently down, but we hope to have it back up and running in the near future. At the turn of the 20th century, Urbanna’s Cross Street, briefly named Bank Street, became the most prominent in regards to commercial dominance. A. Randolph Howard founded the Bank of Middlesex, which became the centerpiece of the town’s commercial district.
