Philippi Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 17276 General Puller Highway, Deltaville, invites you to join them for worship every Sunday at 10 a.m. Children’s church, for ages nursery to 7, immediately follows the children’s sermon.
For September’s worship, Pastor Bill Palmer will focus on Scripture readings from the books of Exodus, Romans, Psalms, Philippians and Matthew.

This non-denominational gathering of fellowship, worship and music has been co-hosted by Urbanna Baptist Church and Bethpage for 45 summers. When it first began, all participants brought their own lawn chairs as there was no amphitheater!

The Make-A-Way and Deliverance Church Family will celebrate the 27th anniversary of their pastors, Apostle Dr. Thomas J. Ransom and Dr. Prophet Edna Ransom, on Sunday, Sept. 13, at 3 p.m.
The Rev. Alvenus Williams Jr. will present the Spoken Word at the 10 a.m. service and the worship leader will be Evangelist LaTonya Taliaferro. The evening service will begin at 3 p.m., the worship leader will be Cynthia Reed Fisher and the Spoken Word presented by Pastor Peyton Waller of New Saint John Baptist Church, Kilmarnock, along with the choir and church family.

This process may also include baptized adult Christians or Catholics who are preparing to receive the sacraments of confirmation and Eucharist. Baptized persons moving through OCIA are known as candidates.
Catholic Church of the Visitation in Topping recently announced that its Parish Adult Faith Formation team has started working through the OCIA Inquiry lessons with a motivated candidate. They are planning to meet on the first and third Sundays and the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month for the next several months.
Their schedule for September includes:
- Q2 — What Is Faith?, Sunday, Sept. 6, after Mass.
- Q3 — The Holy Trinity, Wednesday evening, Sept. 9, 5:30-7 p.m.
- Q4 — Who Is Jesus Christ?, Sunday, Sept. 20, after Mass.
- Q5 — The Bible, Wednesday evening, Sept. 23, 5:30-7 p.m.
- Anyone is welcome to join. While the discussions use structured materials, they try to set a casual mood and welcome all questions, even those that may fall outside the scope of the prepared lesson.

Their women’s choral ensemble, Wellspring, meets Monday at 6 p.m.; and at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, their handbell choir, Embellish, will practice. The community is invited to stop by LUMC Fellowship Hall Wednesdays from 7:30 to 9 a.m. for free coffeehouse drinks.
