The Haunted Woods of Locust Hill is back for its sixth year. This year all donations from visitors will benefit the Hartfield Volunteer Fire Department.
The elaborately decorated Halloween trail starts the scary season on Friday, Oct. 16, and will be open, weather permitting, every night through Halloween. It is open from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on school nights, and is open from 5:30 to 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Admission is free and any donations will help the Hartfield Volunteer Fire Department towards its plan for a new building.
What began during the pandemic with a 12-foot skeleton in 2021 morphed into a thrilling spectacle. “We’ve since turned our tiny part of Middlesex County into a full-fledged walk-thru haunt that’s taken over,” said Michelle Vega, who with her husband Omar enjoy decorating. “Our tiny haunt turned into a hobby we never really planned, but we love.”
