Grafton Baptist Church in Hartfield will observe Holy Week with a mid-week service on Wednesday, March 27, at 7 p.m. Bishop Carlton B. Johnson, pastor of Zion Branch Baptist Church, will deliver the message and will be accompanied by his choir and congregation. Join them as they commemorate the death and resurrection of the Savior, Jesus Christ.

Escobrook Baptist Church in Shacklefords will observe its annual Women’s Day on Sunday, March 17, at 11 a.m. The guest speaker will be Donna Thornton, wife of the Rev. Michael Thornton, pastor of Union Prospect Baptist Church. Music will be by the Gospel Five. Everyone is invited to attend.

Lower United Methodist Church (LUMC) at 120 Lower Church Road, Hartfield, invites everyone to join them for worship this Sunday at 10:30 a.m.

The LUMC United Women in Faith invite the community to join them Tuesday, March 12, at 10:30 a.m. in the LUMC Fellowship Hall for a special presentation from Bay Aging.

All are welcome each Wednesday for a time of group prayer beginning at 5 p.m.

Immanuel Baptist Church’s “Grateful for the Lamb,” a biblical educational musical play event, is set for 4-6:30 p.m. Saturday, March 16, at St. Clare Walker Middle School, 6814 General Puller Highway, Locust Hill. It features singers, actors and food.

The play was written by Immanuel’s pastor, the Rev. Dr. John C. Wright Jr., who is also directing the play.

Bay Aging representative La’Norsha Holden, an options counselor and health coach, will present information at Lower United Methodist Church (LUMC) in Hartfield on Tuesday, March 12 at 10:30 a.m. Topics she will discuss include meals on wheels, transportation, living independently, health services, how to live independently at home, and how to access these services. Groups or individuals that would like to support their mission will also find out ways to help.

The meeting will be offered in LUMC Fellowship Hall and all are welcome. Free light refreshments will be offered after a question and answer session.

Catholic Church of the Visitation Knights of Columbus (KOC) is a not-for-profit organization whose principles are Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism. Donations it receives support Gloucester, Mathews, Northern Neck and Middlesex free health clinics, Virginians with Intellectual Disabilities, Veterans Services Golf Tournament, Families in Need, Hands Across Middlesex and Mathews and the Father John Boddie Scholarship Fund.

Activities that provide funding include the Pancake Breakfast, Italian Feast, St. Pat’s Dinner, KOVAR Collection and Dave Marchant Golf Tournament.

Its members are active participants in many ministries, which include altar servers, choir members, collection counters, community leaders, eucharistic ministers, parish council members and ushers.

KOC meets at 5:15 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month at the Church of the Visitation at 8462 General Puller Highway (Route 33) in Topping. Each meeting starts with a rosary session. All are welcome!

Every Wednesday night the Community Youth Group meets in the fellowship hall of Zoar Baptist Church in Deltaville from 6-8 p.m. Group members are served dinner, have game time and study verses in the Bible after watching a video. All sixth through 12th grade students are welcome to join the group. They currently have 20 to 30 teens participating.

Join an adult Bible study class at Zoar Baptist Church in Deltaville as it starts from the beginning!

This is the account of the heavens and the earth when they were created, when “the Lord God made the earth and the heavens,” reads the Bible’s Gen. 2:4.

The focus of study this winter will be the Book of Genesis. There are classes that meet each Sunday morning: two start at 9 a.m. and two start at 9:30 a.m. Call the church office for information about Zoar’s Sunday school Bible classes.
