At the Middlesex County Board of Supervisors (MCBS) first-of-year work session on Friday, Jan. 8, the board authorized Middlesex Broadband Authority Executive Director Kevin Gentry to use $141,000 — the remainder of the county’s Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act (CARES) funds — to purchase and install additional wireless broadband equipment on the Jamaica District communications tower at Church View.

Supervisors did not take an official vote but the funding was approved on a consensus opinion basis of the board. All board members agreed and authorized Gentry to move ahead.
