All candidates are unopposed

Filing deadline is next week

This week, incumbent Dana D. Burnett completed all paperwork and is now a qualified candidate to run for the Middlesex County School Board representing the Saluda District, reported Melissa D. Welch, Middlesex County’s Direc-tor of Elections and General Registrar. The local and state election is set for Nov. 4.

Karen C. McMinn has qualified as a candidate to run for the Middlesex County School Board representing the Hartfield District. The Hartfield District school board seat is currently held by Jennifer McMurtrie, who is not seeking re-election.

The only candidates to have completed the necessary paperwork and are candidates to run for the Middlesex Board of Supervisors are incumbent William A. “Bill” Harris who is running for the Hartfield District, and incumbent Don R. Harris, who is running for the Saluda District. The Harrises are not related.

The deadline to file as a candidate is next Tuesday, June 17,  at 7 p.m., said Welch.

As of June 10 all candidates are running unopposed.

Local ballot

On the local ballot in the Nov. 4 election are the Saluda and Hartfield district seats for the Middlesex County Board of Supervisors, and the Middlesex County Public School Board.
