Wonder, awe and peace awaits you at Sunday’s UUMC Advent ceremony

The color associated with Advent is purple, which in ancient times was the color of royalty because purple dye was costly and rare. The purple color of Advent is a symbol of looking forward to welcoming the coming of a King.

This Sunday, Dec. 6, at 4 p.m., congregants will light their second purple candle in the Advent wreath at Urbanna United Methodist Church (UUMC). This candle represents peace. In the midst of busyness at Christmas and other times throughout the year, everyone needs to take time for wonder, awe and peace.

How will everyone make room for peace this Christmas?

Join the UUMC group on the front lawn of the church at the corner of Cross Street and Marston Avenue in Urbanna.

For information call the church office at 804-758-5308 or email urbannaumc@va.metrocast.net.
