Stanley Woodard Williams Sr.

williamsStanley Woodard Williams Sr. was born on May 26, 1937, and departed this life on Saturday, June 7, 2025.

He dedicated his life to the land as a farmer, working on Corbin Hall Farm for more than 50 years.  He was a devoted family man and a friend to all who knew him. Some of his favorite activities after retirement were tending his garden, fishing the gill net, hunting, watching Westerns, his beloved Yankees and Redskins, and witnessing his children build families of their own as well as watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow.

He was predeceased by his parents, Willie Roy Williams and Emma Dodson Williams; four brothers, Willie Jr., Temple, Raymond, and Cornell Williams; and four sisters, Inez Barnes, Judy Williams, Lillian Crowe, and Rosalee Smith.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Rosie Jane Williams; his daughter, Emma Payne (Eddie); his sons, Stanley Williams Jr. (Teresa), Michael Williams (Korte), and Wesley Williams (Sherry); grandchildren, Brad Payne (Pam), Megan Payne (Matt), Gino Deserio (Natalie), Colby Williams (Kiera)  Dustin Williams, Hannah Williams, and Landon Williams; great-grandchildren, Brayden and Olivia Payne; sisters, Jean Clark and Alidia (Lottie) Verlander; and a host of nieces and nephews.

There are no service arrangements at this time. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Middlesex County Rescue Squad at 17684 General Puller Hwy, Deltaville, VA 23043.
