Shirley Jessie Trevilian of Wake passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2025.
Shirley will be missed by her extended family and friends.
Shirley was born on Jan. 20, 1947 to Robert Edward Jessie and Dorothy Kennard Small of Deltaville.
She is survived by her sons, Robert “Bobby” Hill and Harvey (Danielle) Hill; her grandchildren, Mary Logan and Andrew Hill, Sydney and Lyndsey Hudson and Franklin Slaton; her siblings, Betty, Ruth and Irma; and her chosen daughters, Lynn Slaton and Stephanie Reeves.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her youngest son, Thomas “Tommy” Hill; and her siblings, Russell, Mary, Carolyn and Billy.
Shirley’s favorite name was Granny; she loved playing bingo and going to local flea markets. She worked for waste management in Middlesex County and did private sitting and served as a nurses aide earlier in life.
A celebration of life is planned for 3 p.m. on Jan. 4, 2026 at the Deltaville Community Association (DCA) building, 17147 General Puller Highway, Deltaville.
