School meals staffer had worked in facility tied to COVID-19 case

by Tom Chillemi –

Dr. Peter Gretz, superintendent of Middlesex County Public Schools, announced that a staff member who has been helping to implement the school meal preparation program was recently working in a facility that has documented a case of COVID-19. “In an overabundance of caution and prevention and with the safety of our staff and community at heart, we are going to suspend our daily drive-through meal delivery at Middlesex Elementary School (MES) and we will vacate the MES kitchen for the week of April 13-17. During that time, Laser Clean, our school cleaning partner, will perform a deep sterilization of the area.”

The daily drive-through meals program at MES is scheduled to resume on Monday, April 20.
