The Middlesex High School (MHS) Charger football team (4-3, 2-0) crushed the winless Charles City Panthers (0-7, 0-1) Friday night, 63-0, at Charles City High School behind a strong MHS offense and defense.

The Chargers scored in every area of the game — offense, defense and special teams. On offense, Davonte Griffin, Dereon Cooke and Donovan Jones all scored on run plays, while on defense Griffin and Jeremiah Sheppard scored on a fumble recovery. Bryson Bulgin scored a special team touchdown on a kickoff return back.

Griffin scored five of the Chargers nine touchdowns and MHS kicker Jacob Hatton hit all nine extra point kicks. Griffin scored in the first quarter on a 50-yard run and 14-yard run. At the end of the first quarter Chargers were ahead 14-0.
