Middlesex High had two swimmers compete in the Region A championships last week in Williamsburg, and both qualified to compete in the Virginia High School League Class 1A state championship meet.
MHS junior Dayton Liverman was the regional champion in both the 100-meter freestyle and 100-meter backstroke, and MHS sophomore Ashtyn Franklin finished third in the 200-meter freestyle and fourth in the 500-meter freestyle.
The state championships will be held Thursday, February 20, at SwimRVA in Richmond.
