Middlesex track boys are region runner-up

The Middlesex High School (MHS) boys track team finished second as a team in Region A as the Chargers scored 98 points at the meet on Wednesday, May 24, at Charles City High School.

The Lancaster Red Devils won the Region A boys championship with 139 points. West Point and Northumberland tied for third with 76 points each; Mathews, fifth, 46; Northampton, sixth, 39; Westmoreland, seventh, 25; Rappahannock, eighth, 15; King & Queen Central, ninth, 9; Essex, 10th, 3; and host Charles City, 11th, 1 point.

The Virginia Class 1 state track meet is set for June 2 and 3 at James Madison University in Harrisonburg. The time will be announced later.
