Michael Scott Walden, 64, of Northumberland and Middlesex counties, passed away on Monday, Oct. 4, 2021 at Memorial Regional Hospital.
He was proceeded in death by his loving wife, Lana Barrett Walden; and his father, Stanley Walden. He is survived by his mother, Nancy; and his three brothers, Randy, Johnny and Timmy; and their families.
During his lifetime, he was a waterman, he worked for Newport News Shipbuilding and with some of the local craftsmen of the Chesapeake deadrise boats, and spent the last 30 years of his career as a welder and foreman.
Anyone who knew Michael knew he was a jokester and loved to make people laugh. His first love was the outdoors. He loved to hunt and fish all his life. His favorite pastime was duck and goose hunting. His closest friends called him Nummy.
His ashes will be spread in the Chesapeake Bay to join his wife Lana at a later time.
